Domestic violence can mean lots of different things.

  • Hurting someone by hitting, pushing or kicking them.

  • Making someone do things they don’t want to do – like being touched where they don’t want to be touched.

  • Always saying nasty things to other people to make them feel sad, scared and worthless, for example constantly saying that someone is stupid or ugly.

  • Stopping someone by force from acting freely.

  • This can mean not letting them have a job or any money or friends.
