If you tell Social Services about what is going on at home:

  • Some children wrongly believe that Social Services always take children away from home.  This is not true, but does sometimes happen if the children are in very great danger or their parents are ill.

  • You can get their number from directory enquiries. Telephone 11 88 88 and ask for your local Social Services. You can either write down the number for later or get them to put you straight through.
  • They should listen to you.
  • If they think you are unsafe at home, they will visit and talk to your family
  • They are there to help you, no matter what action they take.
